HEART DECEASE AND PHOTOSYNTHESIS

Is the Solar-Powered Heart Realistic or just a Mere-Wish.

Pathophysiology

Studies have shown that the major precursor of heart disease, atherosclerosis, starts from childhood. A demonstration by the Patho-biological Determinants of Atherosclerosis in Youth (PDAY) revealed that intimal lesions show up in all the aortas more than half of the right coronary arteries of youth aged 7-9 years.

Epidemiology

Studies have shown that heart diseases are a leading cause of death globally, and in every region except Africa. In 2008 for instance, 30 percent of deaths globally were attributed to heart diseases. Death caused by heart diseases are higher in countries with low or middle income potential, compared to the developed nations of the world.
